His face shone like the sun
+ Gospel Reading Matthew
At that time, Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain. And he was transfigured before them: and his face shone like the sun and his garments became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.
Speaking, Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is for us to be here! If you want, let us make here three tents, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. " He was still speaking when a bright cloud covered them with his shadow. And a voice from the cloud saying, "This is my Son, the Beloved: in him I am well pleased. Listen to him. "
On hearing this, the disciples fell on their faces and were terrified. But Jesus came and touched them and said, "Get up and do not be afraid." Looking up they saw no one but Jesus only.
While coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, "Tell no one the vision, before the Son of man is raised from the dead. Word of the Lord
Prayer of the faithful brothers and sisters, we too, like Abraham, we are called to abandon their idols to follow the path of faith, drawn by divine providence. We ask the Father to sustain us and illuminate our way. Please
saying: Lord hear us.
1. Why Christians are tired and weary in prayer is a refreshment for their faith, strengthened by the contemplation of the mystery of Jesus, crucified and risen for our salvation, we pray.
2. Because the powerful and the leaders of nations recognize and to be instruments of Providence are at the service, with humility, men and women who have been entrusted to them, please.
3. For those who are busy in the things of the world, so allow resonate in their hearts to God's call, and feel loved by him personally and tenderly, please.
4. For those who are in search for meaning in life, because the Lord is made to recognize their existence and make a journey of conversion and joy, we pray.
5. Because the encounter with Christ, in this Eucharist, convert and renew our hearts, and urges us to be leaven in the world of new life, please.
Hear, O Lord, our prayers and also transforms us, that we may be ever more conformed to your plan of salvation. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

catechesis on the "Ten Commandments"
;: announce that today the law of Sinai?
Don Fabio Rosini
lately are coming back into fashion the Ten Commandments. Newspaper articles, books, thoughts and anything else, give space to this issue. This is an amazing phenomenon when you consider how strong was the momentum in the recent history of Western thought, to get rid of any imposition of any law. We come to ask whether it is even appropriate to revisit the Ten Commandments and use them as a means of advertisement about the recipient that are specific to young people. There are crossroads of history that make this or that specific arguments or out of place. This is the time to "keep in mind the law on Mount Horeb, the servant of God, Moses? (Cf. Mal 3:22)
We must become aware of certain things. The history of the last century has enjoyed the first story in a comprehensive way, for some time now what is important happens, I know, in Mexico, is universally known in a few hours. We know what the media do know, and we are subjected to a waterfall, a flood of information. This information is actually selected, domesticated, but that's another topic.
Alongside there is another closely related phenomenon: the disappearance, in developed societies, like ours, illiteracy. It was yesterday that a small portion of people were not able to read, even if it seems distant in time. So people "know" more, young people in the first place.
But do they know? Knowing little knowledge may mean well, know a lot (in the field of popular we are talking about) knowledge is often wrong, superficially. Quality and quantity have their differences. The people of this millennium and they know very badly. There is also a further effect "fork" between two cultural phenomena is not small. On the one hand the long process of destruction of the father-authority, began in the Enlightenment and arrived today. The dislike for authority develops and grows, on down to the slogans of 1968 and the modern culture of individualism, anti-father, and then non-fraternal. On the other hand we have the evolution of science, that while it is still viewed epidermal positivistically as "certainty", was in the principles of relativity, uncertainty and indecisiveness (respectively, Einstein, Heisenberg and Goedel) when a devastating restructuring and study. The axioms of a positivist view, "some" of science are obsolete.
We pull the money: I, young people today, I know many things, very contradictory and opposing received from many sources. Sociologically not accept the authority, I do not think in the fathers, of any kind. At the cultural level professed relativism evanescent, a vision of the world-wide gas, everything is true and everything is false, nothing is certain. Clearly, this analysis is cut with an ax, in a few lines, a generalization that would require one thousand distinctions. But we try to get somewhere and do not fall in the drain depth of tailings.
What is the result of the picture just drawn? A desperate lack of certainty. This lack is almost never conscious, has a draft of anguish in the depths of the hearts of people today. The law of universal gravitation, which means that my body into the chair that supports me, stable and to stay there is also a law of existence. "To be" I need a support, a base, a foundation. If someone tells me that the chair that I'm serving often falls apart at once, my relaxation is experiencing a crisis. So if my livelihood, certain things are necessary to deal in some way my self, by definition, are doubted, for, unreliable, as I am?
The culture of talk shows, the debate, eight of the outside of opposing points of view, freedom for freedom, especially that of opinion, written in the conscience in the making, such as youth, a far more devastating confusion than you think. It would be considered in greater depth, and this is not the time, what it could mean an act of faith for people trained in that context. Perhaps requires a form of extraction from the almost physical today.
And the Ten Commandments? After 200 years of devastation we know as a man who does not know anything. We have an illiteracy existential, every choice is uncertain, and lives at random. We lost the instructions for use. We use the life, body, affection, friendship, time, unknown as a household appliance, push buttons at random. Happiness seems to be a fortuitous accident, apparently ineffable alchemy of life. Sheep without a shepherd; who rejected the pastor culturally, existentially, scientifically.
"At that time there was no king in Israel: every man did what he thought best" (Judges 21:25). But history is providential. None of this is pure destruction, but the occasion, this is a great starting point. Also because the truth is not so far away and unreachable, is a man, the only Son of the Father. The King that we're missing. We reject it, forget it, but we do not, without him we do not know what to do, by trial and error, there seems to be better at the beginning and then discover that we live in the dark. There comes a time when we scaled beneficial, we badly done, we are finally disillusioned by the lies. And we begin to be eligible recipients of a word, that of those who said that blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven is announced to the poor.
Life has its own instructions for use, it has the watermark of authenticity. We, the announcers, we know (if you know) that the Holy Father's will is our peace, our certainty, and that there is a good use of things. Precisely this is the 10 Commandments: the path of peace, the path of wisdom. If it is true that we must pass from the Law to Grace, it is true that the man who does not even know the law is a blind man with no points reference.
The announcement of the 10 commandments good game (especially as x-ray of Christ, his way of thinking, her obedience to the Father and his love for us) finds its strength in the dull pain of this generation.
There is a "but." God save us from clerical tone. This is where you jam the mechanism of Providence, because it is the part that concerns us, who depend on us. If the message is the Wisdom of the Father, revealed to the Sinai and meant for every person of every age, is this sheep and the recipient of the third millennium in pain, who is the issuer? A moralizing? An emitter of references to the "duties"? A sputum of references to the "values"? An apodictic speaker of Kantian categorical imperatives? A champion of ethics? For God's sake, no!
These years have seen a proliferation, even in Church circles, studies on the Ten Commandments, and hence the growing interest around the assumption that pastoral indent the Decalogue. But the risk is that you get to play a new instrument with the same old music. The first people to hear the content of what they say, listen to the music of words. And if the music is boring, or worse, demanding, morality, listen. Very often when you have occasion to listen to many preachers today, you sound off and think their own business.
To be heard we must first listen to what draft of anxiety within us, able to speak to the poor by the poor and not theoretical. And maybe talk to love. Because you do not know. Because it is. A pastoral plan formulated in theory easily becomes a sterile operation algebra Church. We should fear a neo-moralism. Christianity is not an ethic. Christianity is a person, Christ. The Ten Commandments were used by God the Father, above all, to himself, and we've seen in the crucified body of his only begotten Son. The Ten Commandments are God's way of life

150 years of the proclamation of the Unity of Italy
Today, March 17, 2011, will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, a chance to celebrate their national identity and an opportunity to retrace the events that over time have blazed a trail of freedom, but also to highlight the significance of the ideals that animated ultimate sacrifice with those who managed to give the definitive role to our nation by leveraging the potential that everyone can put in place. We did it at school with the organization of the conference "150 years of the Unification of Italy and with the display of our flag that embodies a beautiful story of rights. Italy Happy Birthday!
