Municipality of Terni - Agenda: a culture of respect Libyan

the Mayor of the Municipality of Terni

Given that beyond the attempts of the Italian government to the European Union advocates for the peaceful resolution of the situation in Libya, the Federation of the Left believes priority to end the regime of Gaddafi and the violence it entails.

Given that the current form of stalemate continues to produce casualties on the Libyan population, forced to defend themselves and die from attacks by mercenaries of the Rais and / or to seek safety in other countries. The FDS is concerned about the violence against the Libyan people who struggle for freedom and democracy.

Since you are configuring a serious humanitarian emergency and for those who stand up for the great mass of refugees.

Noting that the lack of medicines and basic goods of first necessity requires the immediate opening of a channel for humanitarian aid.

As one can see no easy solutions, especially the characteristic of Libyan population (consisting of a network of tribes).

assessed that the situation is worsening day by day, so even under the coordination of humanitarian and financial profile is better to act together with Europe and the United Nations.

The Federation of the Left asked the Mayor to convey to the Government National

it gives the voice of Terni:

• pressure for an immediate waiver of rule by Colonel Gaddafi, to cease all hostilities and a peaceful resolution of existing conflicts;

• This solidarity citizenship to the Libyan population that is suffering from the serious state of affairs;

• understand the propensity for humanitarian aid, preferably on site, possibly avoiding redundancy from native soil on our behalf and especially for democracy.
